New from AZ!! '69 F-100 Ranger
Hi all!!! I am new to Fords. I have always been a VW girl, and have restored a '66 Ghia with my dad. Now, however... I have a 1969 F-100 Ranger. The story on it is quite cool. My grandfather bought it brand new back in '68, and has given it to me. Well, I bought it, but for way less than if it wasn't from family. So, it will stay in the family. Yay!!! That said, it is all original, and in awesome condition!!! A shampooer, and a lot of soap and water really cleaned her up!!! She has all the original trim, and I even have the original bill of sale and shop manuals!
I am going to try to keep it as original as possible, and I have a question. When it comes to exhaust... It obviously needs to be replaced, as it is deteriorating from the rust. Should I keep it original style, single exhaust, or go with the dual? My opinion is that exhaust isn't one of those thing that originality is a big deal on. And another question... Should I convert the original oil bath filter to a paper filament, or keep it original? And if I do switch it over, how and where do I find the info on how to do it? Those are the next two things that I am doing. Any opinions would be appreciated.

Welcome aboard to a great site from Tehama County Ca. You will have to decide on how original you want to stay. I like dual exhaust and paper air filter. You will find all the info you will need on here.
How about posting a pic of your truck.

Re: New from AZ!! '69 F-100 Ranger
Welcome from Michigan! I would go with dual exhaust unless it is an inline six. A dual set up that exits to the side behind the rear wheels has a good look to me and would let it breath a little easier. I don't know what to say on the oil bath air cleaner. If a paper filter cleans the air better, i would go with paper. Congrats on the new truck!

Re: New from AZ!! '69 F-100 Ranger
from Florida! I say ditch the oil bath filter and the exhaust is up to you, If you want to hear it go with duals, but if you like it nice and quiet I'd stay with a single. Anyway, welcome to the site!
