I have a '69 F250Camper Special myself! If you don't have disc brakes, I would suggest you seriously consider swapping over to them. It's really not very hard to do.

Not a bad idea . . . what's the rough cost and are the parts easily available? I noticed a set of instructions on how to do it somewhere on this site . . . Since I"m going to have it on stands for the next two weeks I might as well make an improvement!

Probably the hardest part to obtain will be the caliper mounting brackets and dust shields, 2K004 and 2B301 in this picture. The rest is available from a parts house.

While you have it up on stands, you might want to look at the king pins, and check the I-beam and radius arm bushings. Get it all out of the way at once. I have to have the king pins done next spring. :(

At some point I'm going to ask you for a parts list and where you bought everything. For now, I'm going to rebuild the drum brakes and get the truck roadworthy. When I have my shop back (ok, garage cleared out) I can tackle the conversion. I haven't worked on drum brakes for oh . . . . 20 years? I can't even remember what I had with drum brakes on it other than my old 52 Chevy!

Sent the carb our for a rebuild, have a new carpet kit, headliner, LOTS of brake parts . . . will be a fun weekend!
