Will this kill me?
Ok, the entire front end is outta the truck and I am about to pull the engine. The whole front end is pulled as well minus the fenders. Question is this: If i lift the front end of the truck with a cherry-picker and put the truck in neutral, will it roll forward and back without any major issue just like if the front suspension was there? I'm askin, because where the trucks at now, I need to move it forward about 5 feet, but i already have the front end removed. So will this work?

All I am gona say is if you do it, TAPE IT!!!!
You can put a copy here and send a copy to America's Funniest Home Videos.
It might work but make sure you have at least a couple of people around to help put stops in front or behind the tires otherwise it could very easily get away from you.

I agree. I want to see that.
Put a floor jack under the crossmember and roll it on that. I seen cherry
pickers break in half before. BE CAREFULL ! Nobody wants to read about
you in the newspaper the day after.

I will say it's worked for me before, but that was on an almost perfectly level concrete surface, inside a shop. With that much weight off the nose, it would be really easy to make up a dolly for this, using $5 tires from harbor freight, old wheelbarrow tires, or whatever else you can find. If you make it with four tires, you can also use it to move around a cab or bed when you pull that.

I've done it that way also.
had to get my '74 parts truck out of the garage and on the trailer to go to the scrapper. the disc brake front end was gone (to a member here). So I just picked it up and rolled it out the door and winched it onto the trailer. I used the shortest extension I could and hooked it to the crossmember under where the engine should have been. Still had the wheels hang up a bit, but a swift kick got them rolling again.
Just don't get under it and take your time. It will wirk.

In life many men take the path of righteousness, some take the path many others follow (G.M. owners, for example), some take a more arduous path, some a simpler path. I, sir, took the PSYCO-PATH!!

You could use or make something similar to these dollies from Harbor Freight. Check the weight limits, though.

I've gone over and looked at his set up . This kid has a tremendous amount of drive. He is making do with what he has, what he was thinking about atempting may have not killed him but it would have slowed down his progress. after a little disscusion I think he has decided to wait until he gets the i-beams back under the truck so it can be moved or steal some of the pave stones from the front yard to make runners out under the truck for the hoist to run on .
Dont give up kid ... It'll all come together

One other thing- if you have some pipe you can use it as a roller, although on a front end situation you would have to place some timbers-say 4x4's - under the frame rails to allow them contact with the pipe and then just scootch her along- poor man's skate
