1970 Ford F100

Post by bickgibbs »

Hey guys. I bought my 70 back in March of this year. I've spent a lot of time looking around on here but I havent posted much. I have found it to be extremely helpful and hope to be able to give some knowledge back as I build my truck. I'm from Houston, Tx and would love to find out good places to go around here for parts, service and info.

Welcome aboard. Another Houston newbie here and I picked up my 68 F250 in September and have been learning as I go. Lots of great info on the site. I have been concentrating on the basics which I am trying to complete myself so hopefully I can point you in the right direction if you need some help (rebuilt radiator, hoses, carpet, headliner, seat belts, etc ). As with any repair, one thing seems to lead to another so get ready. Concerning parts, I have had the best luck with O Reillys over Advanced Auto Parts or Auto Zone. I have ordered from LMC & Dennis Carpenter but only for a few items such as horn brush, door sill plates, washer pump. Trying to keep these purchases to a minimum though, but sometimes not too many choices out there. Going to use a mechanic for the king pins, pivot pins, radius arm bushings and most likely the rear drums, I just have not picked one yet. Send a pm if you think I can help you. I work Westheimer / Wilcrest area and live just west of the Heights. What part of town are you in ?

I live in the Clear Lake area, but I do most of the work on the truck at my dad's place in Santa Fe. He just bought a house that I am helping him restore and it has a big garage/shop. I bought a 68 and a 73 for parts trucks. I plan on using what I need and selling the rest.
