My first truck 1970 F-250

Post by Ryan_1 »

last week I bought my first truck. It is a 1970 Ford F-250 with a rebuilt 390 with 500 miles on it and a c6 transmission. it is lifted 8 inches on 39" bfgoodrich all terrains and dana 44's front and back.

The truck runs great but i am having some problems with the tranny. i drove it up a steep slope and dumped all my tranny fluid :(

Otherwise this is a great truck and is going to be my project for this winter. I am living up near Anchorage Alaska with lots of trails nearby.

Almost be better off trying to find a known working C6 and swapping it out, probably less than half the price

Transmission has been rebuilt and the truck is runnning perfect, I plan on slowly replacing some of the interior stuff like the seats with corbeau offroad seats and adding power steering.
