Northern Oklahoma Newbie '69 F-100 w/ 429ci
Hi all,
New to the board and classic fords as well. My truck has been in my family since long before I was born. I pulled it out of my granddads barn a couple of months ago before my dad was able to haul it off for scrap. I traded my dad a junked '78 chevy of mine to haul off, in exchange for the '69 F100. In 1976 my dad transplanted the 429ci out of a '69 LTD wagon. When I was a small child my dad sold the truck to my grandpa, and he drove it for several years before it got parked in the machine shop at my grandparents farm. The last time I recall the truck running was when I was 13 years old, I'm 32 now. I am in the process of rebuilding the motor now, once it's back together I will get started on the body/chassis work. This is my first project I have ever worked on so my learning curve is pretty steep. But, I am learning a lot as I go. The trucks purpose will be a "hopped up tow rig", Not going insane with the rebuild because I want it reliable, just want it slightly intimidating when not pulling anything.

There's no replacement for displacement.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I joined 460ford.com to help me out finding info on my engine build. That board kinda makes me want to pull my hair out because it is mostly race oriented.

Welcome aboard from Northern Ca. I am sure it will be more than slightly intimidating even if you leave the 429 stock
