Newbie From Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Post by SomersMerc »

Hi. Long story made short: Brothers friend passed away and his widow asked for help selling his 1967 Mercury M100 Ranger. I am interested in purchasing it, HOWEVER, I think it is a rebadged F100. Door tag states it is a F100, as well as the VIN F10YCA89355. Hood, Tailgate and side markers all show Mercury. Last registered and insured as a Mercury in 2005. Another number on the door tag under RPM is A66782 that I can not figure out. From decoding the vin I can tell that the truck was manufactered in Feb 1967 in Ontario, Canada. 352 8cyl etc. I want to know before I possibly buy this truck if it is a Ford or a Mercury? I am 99% sure it is a Ford but since I am new at this any input would be appreciated. :?

:wel: from SoCal. Sorry, I'm no help to you on identifying if your truck is a Merc or a Ford.

I might suggest you post this same question in General Discussion. There is an extremely knowledgeable member here, mk, that is extremely well versed on the differences between Ford's and Merc's.

Much success...
