68 F100 and a few questions

Post by russ2048 »

Picked up a 68 F100 2wd and looking at my options for it but I have a couple questions.

Will it be able to tow my auto x track car and trailer around 5500 lbs with trailer brakes of course

Motor is a 360 was thinking of building it to a 390

Trans is the light duty 3 speed column shift manual will that handle the towing or swap it to something else?

Rear End is 3.25

Welcome aboard from Northern Ca. Should tow it ok if all is in good working order. Me, I prefer the C6 A/T, and lower gears for towing. Others like a manual trans.

May your sails stay full, and your knots not slip. Unless a slip knot.

Welcome from North Carolina, you might want to post your questions in the proper forum areas. More of the good gear heads hang out there........... 8)
