66' for my little girl
Just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself to the forum. Two weeks ago I bought an 66 F100 from a another member of my car club. He traded one of his show trucks to a guy for the 66 and just let it sit in his garage for a couple years and never did anything to it. My daughter, who turned 16 in November, has always loved 'old trucks' so I took this opportunity to buy this for her as her first truck. Needless to say, it's going to be a process to get the truck to where I feel good about my little girl driving it. I'm a recovering 'import' car builder so this going to be a big time learning experience for both me and my little girl.
I'm looking forward to starting a project with my daughter, and I hope to lean on some of your guys' knowledge to help me through some issues.
Thanks in advance!!
Mike

Re: 66' for my little girl
Welcome from Northern Ca. My youngest Daughter, who is 34 , has always loved the old Ford trucks I have had. I know you are already proud of her, but doesn't that just add a bunch to the proud factor? Enjoy the 66 with the Daughter.

Mike from SoCal. A touching story for sure. Cars are cars and bolts are bolts, you'll be able to transfer your foreign car knowledge over to old American iron.
I'm sure I'm not alone, but if possible, we'd love some pictures of your "Slick".

Re: 66' for my little girl
Thanks guys! I'm sure it's going to make it a lot more special to build it WITH her not just for her! If I can figure out a way to post a pic, I'll do it!

Nice truck! It appears to have a custom grill and 1964 cowl/hood badges as well.
Thanks for sharing!

Re: 66' for my little girl
welcome to the show, i don't want to steer you away from this awesome group, but "slick60s" is a site that deals directly with those trucks. it is a great place as well. they might be able to help you out a little more than they can here.
wanting to buy a mercury tailgate!
