High school truck Newbie
I'm a high school senior and i just bought my first truck, a 2WD 1969 ford F100 with a 360 v8 with a standard transmission (converted to floor from the column), no power steering (will put power steering in sometime in the future), 130,000 original miles, 1 owner...all for 1800$. This truck is clean... i already replaced shocks, brake lines, fixed some simple wireing problems, and other small things. all thats left is to fix the horns wireing, put in a reverse light switch ( on the shifter) and find some r-12 for the ac (which miraculously works very well, but thinking of converting system to r-134). Cant wait to drive into school and set off some of those fancy car's alarms with the mean sounding dual exhaust! Love this website and hope i can get good feedback from everyone here! Thanks!

Re: High school truck Newbie
Welcome. I know it is a lot of fun to set off car alarms. You will have to let us know how well that goes over. When I was in high school, I learned from my dad that if you can get your truck to backfire loud enough, people have a tendency to call the cops and report a shooting. Good luck in school this year.

Welcome from Flintville TN and congrats on your purchase. Good to see a young man your age interested in the old iron. I have a 14 year old trying to buy my 69 SWB and probably will if his Dad can come up with the money. I still have a '66 Mustang convertible that I bought as a junior in high school 31 years ago!
