hi all , im in the process of converting from manual brakes to power. i have read about every post here about converting, but i still have a couple questions.
first off, what years will fit when buying a power brake booster?
my truck currently has a clutch and brake pedal, although it is an automatic. what year trucks can i get a single brake pedal assembly from that will work in my 1970? or will the power brake booster work with my existing pedals?
sorry for posting this but i couldnt find these answers and ive been searching for hours. i want to get this done as soon as possible, so all replies are very much appreciated.....

re: 1970 F100 Brake Question
The brake booster will work just fine with your current pedal setup. The only difference between the pedal setups for an automatic vs. that for a manual is the extra pedal. The brake pedal is in the same place on both. The main pedal pivot pin is part of the clutch pedal for the clutch setup, on an automatic it's just a pin. You can easily remove the clutch pedal and pin and just replace it with a pin if you want. Any '67-'72 truck can donate the pin, and maybe even the '73-'79 trucks, though I'm not 100% sure on that. For a visual take a look at the following link:
http://www.fordification.com/pedal-bushings.htm
On that page, Fig. 3 shows the pin used on automatic setups, Fig. 4 shows the pin integrated with the clutch pedal.
Are you getting a new or used booster? If buying new, you'll have to get the mounting brackets from a junkyard, since replacement boosters don't come with the mounting brackets. Any booster from '68 up through about '77 will work just fine and bolt up. IIRC the booster pushrod, the one which connects to the brake pedal, is different on the '78-'79. If getting one from a junkyard, go for the smaller fatter versions which are dual-diaphragm, as opposed to the larger flatter versions which are single diaphragm. They'll also give you more valve-cover clearance.
