New guy

Post by sillbeer »

Hey all,

I picked up a 72 F250 4x4 Custom standard cab a couple months back. The body is in perfect shape and has almost no rust. The wheel wells are solid and it only has a small spot of rust on the passenger cab corner. Under the battery tray is a little rusty but nothing that a new piece of sheet metal welded in place can't cure. Also I'm on the look out for a new radiator support. The bottom of mine where the rubber mounts are is rusted all the way through in several spots. I bought the truck with a seized 360 engine and it had been sitting for the last 6 years. I have the engine partially torn down and am pulling the inner and outter fenders off to sand blast and paint everything. I also picked up a 360 out of a 1968 f250 that had a fresh rebuild and about 6,000 miles on it. It was installed in a truck and ran fine so I helped pull it and brought it home last weekend. I'll post some pics up when I get home tonight.

Thanks for the link guys. I wanted to pick up the correct rad support but if a 73-79 will work with minor modification that would be fine.

I'm in Northern Utah.

When I got it it had some side steps on it, a bug guard, and a ten foot tall antenna. The visor over the front window will probably come off after the truck is up and running and I'll be pulling the shell off as well.
