:wel: from another SoCal!! Where you from?

Also, while LMC is nice, get yourself the National Parts Depot catalog as well, and Dennis Carpenter. Between those 3, you are set! NPD has some of the best prices out the 3. :)

What a nice warm welcome! Thanks all. Im from apple valley ca. i see a phelan member on board!

Im sort of a ford nut. between personal and bussiness i got 8 of them. Cant bring myself to sell any of them. I got a 1996 f150 v6, over 200k on the clock and works everyday hauling air conditioners around southern california.

I always wanted the 71. a friend traded me a 74 cheby short box for her. im having a family friend strip the old paint off it and do the body work. The front grill is beat up in spots and will probably need to be replaced. The bed is in near perfect shape! i dont think anyone hauled much in it at all. i will post pics of it pretty soon.

i enjoy reading all the great info on this forum. its great to see a forum out there dedicated to these trucks and its even better seeing how active everyone is with their trucks and this forum

Apple valley isnt too far from Santa Clarita (bout an hour and a half). I am going to have some left over parts from my 72 when I finish getting what I need off of it if you need anything. I also have an extra 70-72 front grill shell that is in very good condition, as well as some good condition 72 inserts if you are not looking to go original (although, I like the 71's best).

Anyway, there will be parts fairly close to you if you end up needing some. Forest Bump in Phelan is alot closer and I know he has the hookup on some parts too!

Welcome aboard!

Its my lucky day! parts of my grill shell is pretty rough. Im not really into keeping it 100% original. as long as it looks original from 30'

im on the fence when it comes to the wheels. i like the 15x10's original knock offs, i also like the gen2 2003-04 lightning wheels.
