Checkin In: '67 F100

Post by JL100 »

Hey everyone. Just wanted to get "official" here and make the first post with pics. I just purchased this truck (from another site member I believe) on August 13th off of an internet ad. I had been looking for about 3 months for the perfect project truck for me, to eventually make into my "show quality" classic. I had a tight budget, and wanted it to be a long term project as I would be doing most all the work myself. At time of purchase, I drove it back 150 miles to my door and only used half a tank. It's a "three on the tree" It currently has a rebuilt 300, 6cyl and I believe a rebuilt trans as well. Front Disc Brake conversion is done, and new inner fenders, engine mounts, and radiator support. The pictures taken below were right after the drive to it's new home, and dirty was an understatement. I've done a ton of work already, including a ton of wiring, and deep cleaning, and she's really starting to perk up. I'll get some new pictures up in the other forums after some primer gets on. Thanks for reading!

Welcome from Georgia! I love seeing how varied these things came from the factory. You have a standard cab with chrom side trim, while my 67 is a custom cab with no trim.

I would guess a PO added that good looking chrome bumper. Mine is painted.

Love the pebble beige (same as mine).

She's a keeper!

Thanks to everyone for being so kind and welcoming. I appreciate my fellow '67ers saying hi. I would love to see pics of more 67's, inside and out. I'll try and get a post going in the pictures forums for that.

As to some "curse", I suppose I'm blessed that I don't believe in that kinda thing. In fact, since I have purchased the '67, nothing but good has happened to me while working on it! Whatever challenges or victories I have in the future while restoring it, I will meet head on. That's part of the thrill of restoring cars in general, and It's my zen. 8)

Anyone in or near North Alabama?? That's where I'm at.

For those unaware, the curse of the '67 relates to an unforeseen pregnancy shortly after the acquisition of a 1967 Ford truck.

It's shrouded in myth and legend around here and is a running joke only...NOT to be taken seriously!
