Thanks! Now I can proudly say I have a bump and actually know what I'm talking about!Calfdemon wrote:Love your truck!!
To answer your Bump question, the 67-72 body style has the "Bump" running down the side of the truck earning these trucks the nickname "Bumpside" or "Bump". The earlier model are called "Slicks" and the later model had a "Dent" running down the side where our bump is, so they are called "Dentsides" or "Dents". Now you know!

nice camper!
Btw...forgive me for my ignorance, but I notice you guys call these trucks "bumps". What does that mean? I feel kinda silly for asking, but if I start saying I have a bump I want to know why! lmao

1st off, That sign just completes the package, it's official I am envious. Secondly, (in addition to believing in another beer) I believe the only thing better than a wife who let's you have old trucks, fish and drink beer is a wife that likes old Bumps, fishes and drinks beer. You'll fit right in, Welcome!!

Haha - thanks! Although I must admit I'm not much of a beer drinker - I'll leave the beer-drinking to Jeff. However I had a couple of beers a week ago when we were fishing and they sure tasted good!bindernut wrote:

Nice rig. Welcome from NY. Always nice to see another DRW f350 here, whether it is a camper, flatbed, dumptruck, or anything else.

Hi Cindy and welcome! I already saw your video in the other section but I missed this welcome thread. I love the interior pics. Such a sweet find! Gotta love them campers! Have fun and let us know what changes and/or adventures you and your hubby have in the scamper!

Re: New Vintage F350 Scamper Owner
Thanks Terry! We just had our first real trip with her, a weekend trip that was a four hour drive each way. Jeff drove it down and I drove it home. The old girl worked awesome and didn't do too bad for mileage either. She got 10mpg (US) on the way there and 10.35mpg on the way home. We kept it around 55mph on the highway. She had lots of power and did the trip effortlessly. There was only one big hill where I had to hold the pedal to the floor to maintain speed. The kickdown doesn't work and I was afraid to drop it a gear in case I accidentally put it in first, so she labored up the hill in 3rd gear, but pretty much held her speed. I'll post some pics of her first big road trip tomorrow.terry1167 wrote:Hi Cindy and welcome! I already saw your video in the other section but I missed this welcome thread. I love the interior pics. Sounds like a great first trip. My kickdown didn't work on my 72 F250 Camper Special w/390 until I tinkered with the trapieze (spelling?) linkage and now it works GREAT! Huge difference.LuvMyScamper wrote:Thanks Terry! We just had our first real trip with her, a weekend trip that was a four hour drive each way. Jeff drove it down and I drove it home.
