I know that this is a little outside the time lines for our trucks but I was wondering.
When did ford switch to a cable actuated foot feet setup?
Did ford ever use a cable setup on the carbs or only on the EFI engines?
What year did the linkage change

IIRC the '73-newer 6-cylinder trucks had throttle cables. Here's a picture of the food-feed. It'll swap into our trucks just fine, BTW.
