A vacuum power brake booster receives manifold vacuum to assist in braking.

A hydro-boost receives hydraulic fluid from the power steering pump to assist in braking.

Great article http://www.fordification.com/tech/hydroboost.htm

Also suggest you do a Internet search for hydroboost. Lots of information out there on the subject.

I am also on a full size jeep web site, there is a guy on there that can make these setups for almost just about any truck. Go to IFSJA.org and look for Elliot, or Hydroboost. I am putting one on my 83 Cherokee that I am swaping in a newer straight 6 engine. Got most of the parts from a junk yard, just need to get the mounting bracket and a bushing for my Jeep. Thought about doing this on my 71 but the brakes are still working great.
