Thinking of buying a 68 f100. What should I look for?

Post by misterkilmister »

I found a 68 f100 with a 390 and a 4 speed. 4x4 works. What should I be on the lookout for to make sure I don't get a lemon? I have been wanting a nice old classic for a while and want to only buy one once. Thanks, and I love that there is a site out there just for these trucks. -- Mr. Kilmister, writing from the tip top of the front range in Colorado.

:wel: from Tennessee

I'll leave the suggestions to the more knowledgeable ones. I just recently joined the forum and got a truck as well. I've only driven it once but it's still really fun!

Howdy and a big 'ol :wel:

Look for chassis cracks/modifications that are half-arsed.

For Body, Glass, Interior, Suspension, Steering, Brakes, Trans/Transfer Case, Front/Rear Axel, look for fluid leaks, bent / broken / missing components.

Send us pictures of as much of your Bump as you can of EVERY area on it for additional help.

Thank you, I will do that when I get a look at it up close. Body looks a little worse for wear, but I just care about how it runs. Pics coming whenever I can get a ride over to look at it.
