Re: New Guy In Need Of Help
Well than... try posting exactly what your question is in the suspension forums.
For example: I've got a '01 CV frt end, will it work? - or - "What's best yr CV for my Bump?"
Hope that gives you some ideas. Also talk it out more... What do ya mean?

Re: New Guy In Need Of Help
the 03 and up cross member is a bolt in deal. the earlier ones need to be cut out and grafted in.

Re: New Guy In Need Of Help
since i have no interest in this swap i haven't read all there is on it, but the way i understand it is that anything pre 03 is basically a fab in deal so there is a lot of work involved. the 03 up is the right width and is a four bold swap with some bolstering type fab.
like was said earlier, i would search crown vic swap and see what comes up. you might try searching over on the h.a.m.b. and slick 60's.

Re: New Guy In Need Of Help
First off, Welcome.
Second, to use your 2001 crown vic front end, you will need to cut off your frame rails just forward of the firewall on both vehicles, and weld the two pieces together. you will have to fab core support mounts, bumper mounts, and make suure the front end sheetmetal all lines up.
With the 2003-2007 front end, There are 4 bolts going through the frame, and 8 bolts for trailing arms, and the front suspension (aluminum cross member, steering, suspension, brakes, etc...) comes out. then you will need to cut out the cross member for your I beams, line the front wheel hubs up with the center of your fenders, and drill holes intp your frame and bolt the suspension in. No need to fab bumper mounts or core support mounts.
Hope that helps you in understanding the differences in the front end swaps.
