Post by boots »

thanks :D

I welded the bracket on to the drop bracket yesterday after school. then did a test fit and still everything looks good. Im taking my radius arm extensions over to a friends house in a week so he can weld them on my arms for me, His welder is a 220v instead of mine which is 110v .He also has gas instead of my crappy flux core. but......for x-mas im getting the gas so I can get better looking welds with no cleaning 8)

here are pics

also im going to be bolting the whole new bracket to the frame instead of welding it.

Sounds like a plan. And bolts can be removed to get to those arm bushings. Going with moog? or Energy? Thinking about hardened steel?

Cool, Maybe you could write a tech article on this.
If only I was as inventive.

today I took the right radius arm off, found out at the end it is bent! im having trouble on getting the left side radius arm bolt out of the i-beam, I need to use alot of heat. I need to get it out by friday so I can take them to my buddys and get the extensions welded on. So ill update this weekend. here are pics. you can see the end is warn, but I think it will be fine with the very beefy extension on.

what do you mean by giving you more flex. when you told us about why you were doing this. what do you get out of extending them. i just don't understand.

Flex will basically be wheel travel. With the pivot point on the radius arms further back it will have more range of motion up and down at the front with the larger springs when the vehicle is off camber.

yep 460 pretty much explained it all. but the main reason I extended them was because I didnt want to drop the radius arm in the stock location. I wanted to do it farther back on the frame.
