did it slide up off the column or did the arm come out of the shift collar? the arm is hel din th eshift collar by a roll pin. the shift collar is held to the column with two bolts and nuts. they can be fun tring to get back in place and retightened.

its still on the column..but its sliding up and down on the column..I can't get it to stay in one place so I can get the wheel on.
And when I do get the wheel on, I can't put the horn ring on because it hits the shaft...

ok i was just getting the diagrams to show the little bolts. they are 3641 in this diagram. http://www.fordification.com/tech/image ... column.jpg

not being able to put the horn ring back on because the shaft is too long is because the shaft is probabaly from a 71/72. and the end needs to be ground off of the shaft so the horn ring will fit.
