brakes

Post by R.Smith »

Why does the passenger front brake on my 70 250 w/discs sometimes fail to realease after I brake hard? It's happened 3 times. Each time I've had to crawl under the truck and pull the little pin on the proportioning valve thing and it releases. The first time it happened was after I put on new front hoses. I've run about a gallon of fluid thru the lines bleeding the brakes and I thought I'd fixed it but it happened again yesterday. Thanks.

it sounds like the valve or caliper is dirty sticky.that little valve on the crossmember isnt too hard to take apart and replace the o ring and clean up.

I had similar issue but both breaks would stay locked. It was the master cylinder having air in it. Might want to check that and bench bleed it? :2cents:
