Rear springs

Post by 71fordkid »

Quick question guys. Do you think that taking the rear springs from the 4 leaf or 5 leaf pack down to a 3 leaf pack would give the truck a better ride? I know it will also lower it.

The truck is a stepside, so theres virtually no weight back there. I never haul anything either.

less springs will give the truck a less stiff ride. but some of that is also part of the shocks work. the shocks are suppose to absorb the jumping of the wheels when they go over nonsmooth surfaces. so they slow down the action of the movement of the wheels when they encounter a nonsmooth surface.

Well, the shocks are good. I might try swapping out leafs some other time, its 27 degrees today and the truck is getting new door seals, speaker holes in the doors blocked off (no speakers) and the factory speaker put in the dash with a new deck.
