Is there a chance?

Post by 1969Ranger390cid »

Has anyone attempted to take the disc brakes from a 95 f-150 and place them on a 1969 F-100 Ranger? I'm guessing from what I've read that it will be easier to locate a 73-79 f-250 donor. Any input or advice would be great.

The 95 won't work on the 69. Up to and including 79 they used kingpins, 80 and later used ball-joints to attach the spindle to the axle. The 73-79 are good donors for our trucks but why would you want to locate an F-250 donor for disc brakes to put on an F-100 truck?

with that being said you will also have to pull the rear end of the donor so that you have the 8 lug pattern on all four. 73-74 you can use the stock ibeams and since the king pin from a 69 is the same size as the 73,74. i did the disk upgrade on my 69 ranger that also has a 390. so that also being said all i had to swap out was the spindle and the steering drag link. once i got the beams preppedthe install was easy
