Dream Beams for my F250

Post by westco »

I have been searching and reading quite a bit regarding lowering my 69 F250 crew cab/shorty and can't find a solid answer, I want to know if I order "dream beams" will they fit my front end....I found this info on this site.....http://www.fordification.com/tech/Ibeamsspindles.htm .....according to it I have the same size king pins as the F100 and the dropped beams should fit, correct? I'm looking for someone with some experience to clue me in....btw this truck will no longer see work duty....and that's why i am lowering it.

Don't know about the Dream Beams but how low do you want to lower it? Since you say you are not going to use it as a work truck anymore have you looked at the Crown Vic route? It will be a different bolt pattern completely but... Just trying to help not trying to change your mind.

Hey Fuzz thanks for the reply, I just want a nice rake to it but more than just cutting a coil or two. I was reading up on the crown vic swap, although it would be a great riding truck I prefer to keep it simple a and it don't get much simpler than that.

I emailed DJM suspension asking if the F100 beams would work on my F250, their response....

""Yes the 250 could have two different king pins. If you have the smaller pin it will work on your truck
1) 1.054
2) .859"".....

Is there a way, without taking the front end apart to tell what size king pin I have...is there a noticeable difference between the beams?

You can look at the pics of the AIM beams then look at DJM beams and tell from the pic that the djm beams are better built.
Look AIM/AIRBAGIT up on the BBB site and see all the complaints about customer service. Its funny how they tell you not to buy beams made out of tubing because they bend, they were the ones selling round beams that were bending years ago i know cause i owned a set on a 92 ford ranger. I paid to put them on then had to pay to put the factory beams back on. I never got a refund
for the beams.
You can pay more but you cant buy better.

Did you have bags on your ranger?

No bags on the ranger. I did have a tilt bed that i used air shocks to raise and lower it. Those were the old show days. Here is a pic at Texas heatwave after i did away with the tilt bed and got a hottub.

Cool little truck!!
The reason I ask is because I also just installed round beams on my 89 ranger with one round of coil cut out.
I'll have to keep an eye on thouse beams now that you mentiond it.
