F 350 Shocks

Post by bluef250 »

What shocks are you running on the rear of your F350? Do you have shocks? And lastly, are all F350 bumps equipped with Dana 70's?

I run Napa shocks on my F-250 and would if I had a 350 as well.

They have shocks and you will want them as well.

From everything I have seen they only came with Dana 70s.

BlueF250,

Here's my "shocks" on my F-350 DRW: :D
http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff13 ... job013.jpg
It seems that Ford didn't think we'd need shocks on the DRW trucks, not even brackets there. Our DRW's are kind of like a pogo stick on steroids with no shocks, real...rough ride with no load on the truck! :D
Steve (Flatbedford) did find a set of shock mounts for his though.

That is quite a build backetcase302. I enjoyed the slide show. Great idea on doing the rear receiver. How much additional work to make the receiver a 3rd brake light? I would think that you would need to run a dedicated brake light from under the dash.

Did Ford install stocks on the SRW F350, such as a crew?

Thanks for the compliment!
I believe Steve got his mounts from Ryan (71Ford) here on the site, (from a SRW F-350) ?
Maybe someone else with a little more knowledge on the mounts will pipe in.

The rear shocks were optional back then. This is what the factory mounts look like installed.

Here are the ones that Ryan found for me.

It took me a few years to find a set. I haven't installed them yet because I will need longer U-bolts and those will come when I have the rear springs re arched.
Another route you can go with is these mounts from an 80-86 F350 with Sterling 10.25 rear. They may be on newer ones too. They bolt onto the axle with U-bolts around the tube.

The upper mounts are the same from '67-'97 3/4 and 1 ton trucks. You will have to modify one hole to get 80-86 upper mounts to bolt up to a 67-72 frame.

Wow! I haven't even thought about shocks on the back of my F-350. I'll have to go look now.
