Power steering pitman arm question

Post by ScreaminZ »

Working on gathering up parts for a power steering conversion and have a question about the pitman arm that I've got.
Vehicle info:
68 F250 2wd with front suspension/brakes/steering linkage from a 1973 F250

I just got a saginaw/ford steering box built. While digging through a box of pitman arms I've got laying around I found one that fit on the sector shaft and am curious if it'll work for my conversion. It's not the normal C9 or D2 arms that most folks use. I'll have to dig some more to see if I can find the correct one, but since this one's already blasted and painted I'd love to use it if it'll work. This one's got a part number of D8TA-3590-BA which a Google search tells me fits a 78-79 F150 4WD. Any idea if this pitman arm will work for me?

From center-to-center, the holes are approx. 6-3/4" apart. It is offset 3/4". Tapered hole is 3/4" on the large side and ~11/16" on the small side. When mounted on the steering box, the large side of the taper points down. How do these dimensions compare to the correct D2 pitman arm that would be correct for my application?

Thanks.

Bump for the morning crew. Anybody got dimensions on the D2 or C9 power steering pitman arms?
