hello to all
i have been at it for 2 weeks now ,
strip the 1988

18 in to cut out

cut

to late to turn back now!

weld

3/8 fish plate 1/2 in grade 8 bolts

what do you think so far?

I'd run a weld on the top and the bottom of the plate just for kicks. Bolts won't really keep it from moving just slightly. Just something i'd do while you have the welder out and the frame easily accessible.
Welding bottom to top on each side would create a weak point (from heat) from welding in an open area on the frame. But there are two crossmembers right there at the frame section so that helps.

Just my opinion.

i am working on rad and cond mounts now ,then clutch slave next, it already has a juice clutch from the m50r2 from the 20 year ago build but no room now with power booster

rust repair ) and find a good hood!!
i dont mind i realy enjoi projects , ill get some more pic up

i took a weak off from work just so i could get some hours in it
it's taged and iam driving now ( when my 20 year old son dont take it) ha ha he was a big help

well the old girl has ben a great fun truck for 20 + year for me , i had done the 5.0 HO /5 SPEED M50R2 TRANS /FT DISK BRAKE SYS BACK IN 1992 and i had a lots of dependble fun with it
i was looking for a change and i realy like the old school diesel
pluss i thought it would be a little different .... and it sounds cool (cat ta lacka lacka lacka lacka )
