Parking brake cables

Post by stewartjwnls »

Okay, more questions.

Does anyone have a source for parking brake cables? They are missing off of these 2 trucks that I just bought. 68 and 72 F250 4WDs.

I'm open to either new or used, and will probably be looking for everything from the assembly all the way back to the drums, at least in the case of one.

Also, would it be easier to just buy something off of an entirely different truck with similar dimensions and make it fit?

Thanks.

are both of them F250? and have the dana 60 under them? i would guess. several of the vendors have those cables i am sure. i can get one set of two cables from a dana 60 F250 2wd. i would have to look up interchange thought to make sure they fit.

Yes, they are both F250s and 4WDs. I know the 68 is a Dana 60, and have been told the 72 is as well, but have not crawled under it to verify.

I have looked everywhere I can think to on the internet for cables, but no luck so far. NPD and LMC have this stuff, just don't specify it for my trucks.

Also, I have some part interchange books, but they only talk about things related to engines basically. Is there another resource out there available to show interchangeability of anything/everything?

Would these vendors also have the assembly in the cab, or am I going to have to look for salvage parts there?

Thanks for your help.

I take it you mean McDonalds?

I guess I'd better spend more time looking through the links section of this forum.

Thanks.

Yes, you can get a side of fries with your brake cables, and you always get change back!
