I-Beam replacement idea

Post by Skitzo »

Hey guys, just throwin this idea out there to see if anyone has any suggestions or can see if this wont work. I have a 72 F100 and I want to bag the front without removing the engine. I'm thinking of fabbing up some A-arms to replace the I-beams and using some 65-73 Mustang disc brake spindles so I would still be able to use the stock steering box and linkage as well as keep the engine mounts and crossmember. What do you think? Is there anything I'm missing? I want to lay the frame, it's a rat project so beauty is not my goal, 8)

I'm very familiar with Mustang suspension, that's why I'm choosing those spindles. Here's a link to some mods I did to a 73 Mach 1. I converted everything to a full roller (ball bearing) suspension.
