No rear traction!

Is it just me or does everybody have no rear traction. It rained today in KC and I pealed out at every green light. Now I do have the 352 and I think that the throtle is a little sticky and there is no such thing as a slow start, but still it seems like there shouldn't be this bad of traction.

Mine does that with a 300-6. The rear brakes lock up real easy too, I think it's just from the lack of weight in the rear end.

These old Fords are light in the butt. Is this your first rain. Maybe a build up of oils on the road surface. Thats what the Washington people use for an excuse anyway. Only thing is we never get the hard rains to wash the oil off the road surface. Thats the other half of the excuse.

Mine has good traction rain or shine. But then I carry all my tools with me.

Mine was like that until I put a limited slip in it. That really helped alot. Used to get stuck on wet grass. Now I go about anywhere I need to.
If it's very bad I take the 4 wheel drive Battle wagon as my daughter calls it.

Also in wet weather You should check the air pressure in your tires, Most people over inflate the rear tires, esp if you inflate to the pressure listed on the side wall. I don't care what kind of tire you M/S all session if it's over inflated for your trucks load, it will get poor traction.
If the tread on tires is thinner in middle you have been running over inflated. D and E range tires are good for 3000 pds+ at 50 (D) and 80 (E), your empty bed doesn't weigh 6000 pds. An add bounus to running lower pressures is softer ride.

My truck does not get good traction at all in the rain. I need new tires, but my truck will just slide in the rain. Forget about stop lights or signs when it is raining. Another bad thing is the brakes pull a little bit, so just about every time we get a good rain, I slide my truck around into an unexpected 180.

Hey I drive a 250,you think rain is bad...try the canadian winters.I either have to carry 3 railway ties or park it for the winter.
I think its much like comparing the old vans and the new vans. make sure you have a healthy passenger to help push...
