Disc conversion??

Post by In FORD we trust »

I bought my 68 F250 4x4 and i'm pretty sure someone has put it together (Not Original) They put a 76 front end under it with disc brakes. My master cylinder has been leaking from under the cap. I tried putting on a new gasket but it still leaks. So i'm going to replace it. Now the master cylinder on my truck now is a stock looking small bowl in the front large bowl in the rear. I was wondering if i should have a different type that would work better for disc brakes in the front and drums in the rear? Here's a pic of what i have now. :?

you need to get the master for a truck with front disc so I'd say get it for a 75, 76,or 77.
A drum brake master has a 10lbs residual pressure valve built into it. Running that master will cause brakes to drag.
