Getting bushings inserted tips?
I'm replacing the front axle pivot bushings and the rear spring bushings. I've quickly found out what a bear that is. Any tips on getting them in? I don't have a shop press right now. I've tried putting a bolt through and torqueing it down. I snapped the bolt I was using on the axle bushing. I'm using grade 8 bolts on the spring bushings and they will only go in about 3/4 of the way. Any suggestions? ![Confused :?](./images/smilies/icon_confused.gif)

Take them to a shop and have them pressed in.

I agree, take them in. There is not enough cuss words out there to make it any easier.

I suppose taking it to a shop would be the easiest thing to do. My dad and I used a bolt like you did and we got it done. It was pretty hard though.

Either that or go buy yourself a hydraulic press for your shop...then charge your buddies to change theirs! ![Evil ](./images/smilies/icon_evil.gif)
