brake line

Post by danno »

Just a little help!!! I put headers on my truck (300 six) My right front brake line is like maybe a 1/8-- 1/16 of a in. away from the header.Do you think the heat from the header will affect the brake fluid going to that wheel. Its not coming to rub on the header but is very close to it. :hmm:

It would be too close for my comfort IMO.
You could always wrap the collector or tube that is that close:

Can you still wrap them once you put them on? Not a hole lot of room

I'm willing to bet that you can put the header wrap on with the headers installed, and it shouldn't be too bad with an I6, at least not as bad as it would be with a V8 since you have a bit more room in your engine bay, with that said I've never had to wrap any headers because I haven't owned anything with headers :(. Another thing you may try would be to zip-tie you brake line away from the headers a bit, just be sure that you can get full suspension travel with the brake-line zip-tied back so you don't have to worry about running in to any issues there .
