1967 f100 front disc conversion, 1985 donor?
I have a 1967 f-100 shortbed that needs front discs (most all driving around here is 50+ stop and go), I have a 1985 longbed f150 I was given and wanted to snatch the front discs from (and all the rest of what I need). I am aware that the swap from a 73-79 is well documented and proven, but this is what I have and I'd like to see if I can make it work without any more fabrication than maybe some drilling.

questions you will have to answer.
are the king pins for the spindles the same size?
if not will the discs fit on your drum brake spindles?
and will the caliper brackets swap over to the drum brake spindle.
the ibeams are shorter so you wotn be able to mess with that.

The discs/rotor will fit on the 'disc spindle' from the 73-79 but you cannot use the spindle from the 85 on pre 80 model trucks.
1- The 80 and later trucks do not have kingpins but ball-joints intead.
2- The 80 and later trucks are front steer (steering mechanism is in front of the axle) and before that they are rear steer (steering mechanism is behind the axle).
3- 79 and older trucks have the same lenght axle left and right.
4- 80 and later have different length axles on the left vs right.
These are some of the things I've discovered because I have been toying with the same idea just for different reasons. I like the ball-joint setup better than kingpins.

What if I just unbolt ibeams from the 85? What's my obstacle then fabricating mount points since the frames are different widths? I'd have to transfer steering over as well, not a bad thing since it's power

That might work, I'm not sure. One thing I've been thinking about is, like you mention, make the I beams fit but swap the spindles from left to right and vise versa so that I don't have to move the steering box and linkage to the front of the axle.
