My 71' Ford F-100 "Big Wood"
A few years ago I ran out of money working on my 1968 Plymouth Valiant and since then have been aching to get another project that wouldn't be so expensive! So I decided on a vehicle I've always wanted. A good old 1971 Ford F-100. I also do all kinds of hauling and since the truck I purchased had a piss poor wooden flat bed already on it i decided to revamp the bed and create a new one. Everyone meet Big Wood:
here is a shot of my bed. I'll post a few other shots in the projects forum as to how I went about doing it.
Just finished updating the interior...it was a mix of yellow, orange, and red with no radio. That was all fixed. i bore out some holes in the door panels to put more sound into the car instead of the original space for a speaker.
I have plenty more shots of Big Wood and am glad i came about this site on a recognition from the previous owner of the truck. Can't wait to meet all of you fellow Ford Truck owners and am happy to join the ranks!

Ha, Thanks! The Fiance thought up the name, I was going with splinter, but Big Wood just sounded perfect!

Re: My 71' Ford F-100 "Big Wood"
Of course! I got rid of the good ol' Slant six 225 leaning tower of no power and threw a 318 in the Plymouth about a year ago and it has sat since... . All it needs is the drive shaft to be cut and a new radiator and I can start squealing the tires at the track but ever since I bought my truck all the extra money is going into Big Wood!

Nice! Not sure I could ever find an excuse to sell my Valiant. Was my first car when I purchased it for $800 at 15 years old. Buddy of mine has a Duster as well. No where near as good of condition as yours looks but it was a fun car that we beat on for awhile!

It was a typical Dodge. Hard to work on & even more expensive $$$ !!
I could build 3 of these trucks for the price of 1 MoPar
