Radius arm removal

Post by cheek »

Gday guys,
Im trying to take the radius arms out of my donor truck, is
there a special tool to take it out?
The chassis has been cut and I have lifted it with our excavator so it is vertical so it can come out easy, I've tried tapping(hammering :P) the bolt but it just aint budging :(
What am I doing wrong?

its easier to drop the whole front end out of the truck and then remove the king bolt from the ibeam. that bolt is probably just rusted in. to remove the radius arm in a complete truck you have to remove nut from the rear of the arm. remove the spring hanger on top of the coil spring tower. remove the nut holding the coil spring to the i beam. remove the second nut on the king bolt. unrust that bolt. remove the botl and then remove the radius arm. if the botl is stuck while the ibeam is off the ground it might be bound up and sticking the bolt. so try wiggling everything so it will come out. there are slight short cuts to removign the radius arm too. liek not removign the coil sprign from the upper bucket. but it is easier to have it out of the way soem times.
