re: Question???
As Pat mentioned, 1953 was the year. They switched from F-1, F-2, F-3 to the F-100, F-250, F-350 designations. 1953 was also the first year of the new design that went through 1956.
One thing I've never heard is why they later switched from F-100 to F-150??

re: Question???
I think one of the "Did you know" boxes explains it. Emission controls is the reason, the F100 always had to have more emission equipment than the F250. But in 1975 Ford pulled a fast one with the F150, it had a GVW of 6050 lbs. which was just over the 6000 lb. breakpoint for less emission equipment including no unleaded or converters. Chevy did the same thing with their "Heavy Half". There still was an F100, it lasted thru '83. By the way, catalytic converters is what killed the FE, it didn't run well with them.

re: Question???
I friend saod that my truck was a F250, but when I go and get parts they don't show a F250 for 1967. I was also told all the brake parts for my truck are for the campers special.
So what do you think is my GH truck really a F250? Or Campers special?

re: Question???
I would think a 3/4 ton Camper special is fairly common. Camper special was just a series of add-ons like sway bar, bigger rad, trans cooler, brakes, etc. all packaged up into one option bundle.
I would think the fastest way to tell if your truck is a 3/4 ton (F250) would be to check the door tag. If the first 3 letters are F25 instead of F10, bingo, you are a winner.

Ford shipped these out with just the dash forward, them Hackney body did from the dash back. there is one way in and out the passenger side. It does have 8 lugs though.

re: Question???
Oh ! LOL
Does your VIN on your registration have a number like that perhaps?
The * lugs should be a giveaway, alright, although it could be a one ton (F350)

re: Question???
It really doesn't matter, I love my truck be it a F100 or a F450.
I was just wondering.
The serial number is A5950 4, so that is no clue.

re: Question???
Look for the VIN stamped on the frame rail. It'll start off with an 'F'. Take a look the the following picture to see where on the frame you'll need to look:
http://www.fordification.com/images/VINlocationsL.jpg
If it starts off "F2" it's an F250 family, if it's "F1" it's the F100 family.

re: Question???
Hey, did you see there is another good humor truck like yours on ebay for like 12 grand or something. The guy also has a 54 Chevy good humor that looks like it was made from a panel truck.
Great ideas have always encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds.

re: Question???
Yes it has been on about 4 times so far with out a bid. There have also been some other nice 69s on ebay, and not getting a bid. I was told mine was worth $30 to $40,000.00, but none of the others are getting bids, so who knows what anything is really worth, until someone is handing over the cash.
All I know is it would take alot for me to part with my baby, I have had people ask me to buy it, but I always said NO, never talking price.
I am now debating if I will be selling Ice Cream out of it next year, or just keeping it for my enjoyment. I do the ice cream thing more for the fun of it, than the $$$. I have been to some very FUN places with it, and seen some cool things.

re: Question???
I finally took time to clean off the frame rail today, and found the complete serial number. F25AEA59504 There is a star in front and behind the serial #.
So it looks like a have a F250. I now am going to check out past post to find out how to figure out the rest.
Thanks
