Axle center line?

Post by jets4343 »

Here is the deal. I'm putting in a No Limit Eng. IFS Wide Ride front suspension in my '69 F100 2WD. Having a hard time getting the axle center line correct. I have all the sheet metal off, engine out, stripped down to a bare frame. When you raise the I beam up from the ground it changes the location of the lower grease fitting. Is there a better way of finding the center line? I have what I think is the correct location but I really need to be sure and I'm not! Thanks for any help!!!!

No all the orginal parts are on the frame. To make this simple for me, what is the best way to find the front axle center line. The kit I'm putting on the truck is similar to a mustang II IFS. I guess what is throughing me off is how the twin I beams curve, are not straight from end to end. I was going off of the lower zirt on the bottom of the spindal pivot on both sides . Did this help?

Thanks guys for the help!! The wheel base is 115" so that is where I'm starting. Measure forward from the rear axle 115" and take the diagram from the link that Fordman gave me and hope we are right. I will post pictures when I get a chance. This is going to be my daily driver so the wife is on me to finish it up as quick as I can, she wonts her car back. Here is a site from my last build

This one want be built up like this but its still going to be a head turner. I hope :D . Thanks again!!
