You can use the '77 springs as long as you also use the '77 radius arms. The springs and radius arms need to be kept together and swapped as a set. You can either use your existing springs and radius arms with the '77 I-beams, or use everything from the '77...don't try to mix and match.
Sounds like a heck of a score, especially with the front sway bar. Be sure to get the swaybar's mounting brackets that fit under the springs and you'll be set.

Re: F250 disc brake swap?
So does this mean that my brand new F100 coils will not work on my '77 F350 front end i just picked up?? I can't just swap my radius arms on either. Hmm I'll have to look at it tomorrowFORDification wrote:You can use the '77 springs as long as you also use the '77 radius arms. Jamie Miles wrote:Well I went to the junkyard this morning, and they just got a '77 F250 Camper Special in. super cab, 2wd, 460/C6. Has the complete disc brake front end, and a front sway bar!Plus, by the overall condition of the truck, and the last time it was registered on the road (1992), it appears it only has 41,000 original miles. I found a notebook in the glove box where someone had kept track of the fuel economy from 1980-1989, it shows it having 16,000 in 1980, and steadily climbs up to 39,000 in 1989. So I'm 99% sure the 41k showing is original miles.
Will I have any problem using the front springs and sway bar from the '77 on a '71 F250 frame? Heck, I'm even thinking about going and getting that '79 F350 frame. Either way I'm going to drop my '71 cab on, and the '68 SWB bed I have on, so I'll have to chop the frame a bit. Tell me that wouldn't make for a stout truck, though.
What junk yard is this at?

i thought the front coils could be swapped if you used the matching lower spring cups for the coils you were going to use.
