Interesting find on my crossmember.

Post by 67F250CS »

Well as most of you know I have been swapping an FMX for favor of a C-6.
I was getting ready to bolt the trans mount on the crossmember and saw little letters stamped on my crossmember. It has AUTO8 stamped very near the center where the mount goes. I am guessing its a auto only and V-8 only crossmember. I thought they were all the same. Any one seen this before? :hmm:
Pictures arent great but you can see it a little.

fordloaf. My dipstick is pretty thrashed. I saw your earlier thread about needing one. Mine is missing the top cap also. Just a metal stick stuck down a slightly bent tube. Its ugly dude, sorry.

Hmmm....I've never seen this before. I'll have to check out the three or four I have laying around the shop and see if there's something similar on them. Thanks for the heads-up!

I've never seen it either but I used the same cross-member under a 3 speed manual,C-6 auto and an AOD overdrive just by moving it backwards into holes that were already drilled.
