4wd steering box vs 2wd boxes

Post by fordman »

my F100 4wd has a 2wd box that is dropped down inside of a outisde the frame in front of the tire ps saginaw box on it. the pitman arm goes to the rear to steer the truck. today picked up a 4wd drive box that bolts up to the outside of the frame in frotn of the tire. but the pitman arm was found in the front position. (pointing forward) if i use the 79 box and my rear facing pitman arm . will it steer differently? left is right and right is left.

No. The sector inside the 4WD box is reversed, opposite of what a 2WD box is.
