Frame stands
I'm sure this has been discussed before, I've searched and can't find anything. I'm putting a 351c in my 68 that came with a 240, i had a 72 parts truck that came with a 302. The 72 engine stands don't bolt up to the 68 frame. I did a similar swap years ago on a 67 and i don't recall doing any drilling for these stands, my memory isn't what it used to be so maybe i did. The 72 has been scraped so i can't compare the two. What am i doing wrong? I know there's a simple fix here that I'm over looking.

The '68 frame won't have all the necessary holes to mount the 302 stands because the 302 wasn't available in '68. When it did become available in late '69, all frames were then drilled to accommodate the stands. The top bolt holes are the same, it's the bottom ones that will need to be drilled out, and only on the driver's side. You can simply install the stand using the top holes, mounting them in the forward position, and then using the stand as a template, you drill out the bottom ones. IIRC it's just the bottom rearmost hole that doesn't exist.
I'd venture a guess that you either drilled the hole in your '67 frame and don't recall, or you simply mounted it up with 3 of the 4 holes and didn't drill out the 4th.
