Wheels are made by PIAA and these are called Super Rozza, 2 piece wheels. A little too pricey to use on this project, hope to sell these soon and get something a little more fitting for a street truck.aramil wrote:what brand are them rims, i like them.

Re: 72 F100 project, longbed to short conv, (CV swap cont'd)
Got the rest of the front end back on and it looks like it settled down about another inch.
![Image](http://i545.photobucket.com/albums/hh381/JG1207/F100/DSCN3935.jpg)
I also started thinking about the rear and how much I want to lower it, right now its got a pretty good rake to it...
![Image](http://i545.photobucket.com/albums/hh381/JG1207/F100/DSCN3942.jpg)
and this is with the rear end sitting on my jack, about a 3 inch drop. I was hoping I could mock it down lower but thats as low as my jack could go. and the drums were hitting the rims.
The mock up wheel is a 19x10 with a 275/35.
![Image](http://i545.photobucket.com/albums/hh381/JG1207/F100/DSCN3940.jpg)
Will probably just do an axle flip but I'm not sure if I want to keep the 9 inch yet. I could probably get a complete explorer disc brake rear for the same cost of converting my axles to 5x4.5

Your project is looking so good man! Thanks for posting the pics with the new wheels....they look awesome on your truck by the way. According to your pics, the 245/45's I have mounted on my mustang wheels should look just fine on my.

Re: 72 F100 project, longbed to short conv, (CV swap cont'd)
Been busy with work and other stuff but I did manage to lower it some more. I cut 1.5 coils off the front springs, dropped about 1 1/4 but I'm wondering if the sway bar is holding it up a little.

![Image](http://i545.photobucket.com/albums/hh381/JG1207/F100/DSCN4274.jpg)
And I flipped the rear axle, its much easier without a bed floor
I'm debating on whether or not I need to notch the frame, this only temporary as I'm most likely going to get an 8.8 rear to match the front's 5x4.5 bolt pattern.

Re: 72 F100 project, longbed to short conv, (CV swap cont'd)
Haven't done much but I did manage to get another rear end, 8.8 explorer, 3.73 locker and 31 spline axles, for $150. But I also need to get some wheels, I sold those 19's.

Great job. Your truck is really coming together. I'm curious to see what wheels you select.
I'm at the beginning of the same CV swap into my 63 F100 except I have the whole car (2005 CVPI) and researching how to transplant the entire drivetrain. Thanks for the info on the hydro boost and steering. This thread is going to save me a lot of time on my project.

Also, what is the year and hub to hub width of the 8.8 Explorer differential?
Here's the 8.8 out of a 2005 CVPI with 3.27 locker and wats link. I pulled it from the car before measuring and discovering it is 70 inches wide (hub-to-hub). I may have to get it shortened or find a different different setup.

I think the explorer was a 2000 or 2001 model and it 59.75" wide, stock 9" is 61"jusatad wrote:Also, what is the year and hub to hub width of the 8.8 Explorer differential?

Re: 72 F100 project, longbed to short conv, (CV swap cont'd)
Cool that means a lil wider rear tires ... im deff doing this sometime... Dose this mean that you are going to flip the 8.8 rear end and notch the frame for safety.. and how you going to mount this.. if you dont flip it..... I personaly dont like the ride of leaf springs...JG F100 wrote:I think the explorer was a 2000 or 2001 model and it 59.75" wide, stock 9" is 61"jusatad wrote:Also, what is the year and hub to hub width of the 8.8 Explorer differential?
