sport steering wheel
A buddy of mine gave me this sport steering wheel a couple of months ago. The only horn button I could find is from a car I'm guessing. It isn't wired up for the horn.

Do you happen to know what brand it is?
Looks kind of like a Caddy emblem in the center.

It's a ford option that I think started in '78 or '79 up through maybe the early '80's .
Some cars had them. The way I take it is the ones in cars had the horn on the signal switch. Seems like you pushed it in to honk the horn. Anyway the horn buttons from the cars will fit the truck steering wheels, but they're not wired up for the horn. That's the only horn button I've been able to find, got it on ebay. I had to put one of the little cheasy horn buttons on the dash. That will do until I can find the correct one for the truck.

Yes, cars used the turn signal stalk. You need the button for the pickups. The "Free Wheeling" pickup packages included the sport wheel starting in '78. Might try looking in '78 and later pickups.

re: sport steering wheel
They had one just like that go for 89 dollars yesterday. I wasn't paying attention though, and the bidding ended.

re: sport steering wheel
I bid up to 80 bucks on one awhile back that looked pretty nice. It brought $150. That was too rich for my blood. I've looked at about a bejillion salvage yards for one. The only one I found is the one thats on my truck. It's not great shape, but neither is the rest of the truck so it matches pretty good. ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

re: sport steering wheel
I agree that it looks pretty good in their, but not sure if I would toss the decent wheel I have that works fine to replace it with another of the same or less shape for more money...... but I could be made to change my mind if I ran across the right deal''
