Post by torino428cj »

Has anyone ever got the new repo. Denis Carpenter furl tank hoses and replaced them on the rear 19 gal. fuel tank.No instructions with part not such a easy task if your doing it on the ground with only two hands the question is has anyone ever replaced these hoses and whats the secret to getting the two hoses on with-out kinks in the hose.If anyone has any knowledge of this it would sure help.

If it's anything like my '74 F100, when I dropped my tank the other day, both fill and vent hoses came down with the tank. I don't believe I could even reach the hoses at the tank end...so had to disconnect at the fill neck end. When I get my new tank, I plan on attaching the hoses at the tank ...then pushing the hoses over the frame as the tank moves up and in place. If there is an easier way, I'd sure like to know too.

put grease inside the hose and on the neck twist turn and push until they go on.
