74 F100 Gas Tank Vent Valve

Post by TheMickster »

I've pulled the aft axle gas tank from my 74 F100...and will replace it and the sending unit. I see there is what appears to be a vent valve with a hose connecting to some steel tubing. Does anyone know where this vent goes to? Do I even need to buy a similar tank with this vent valve as the gas fill neck has a vent tube that parallels the fill line. Appreciate any help on this. thanks

the only valve should be the tank switching valve. the vent should run up into and besdie the filler neck.

As I read more I'm suspecting the 'valve' I mentioned is probably the tank vent that must go to a cannister at the front and the cannister to the breather. You think that might be it? This vent is top center of the aft axle tank. It must be part of the EV/EM recycle system. Ya think?
