FE Experts Please Come In

Its been a lil while since I was here, but Im back!

Ive got some questions about the top end on my 390. First off I was lookin for a little insight on the heads I picked up way back when. They are P/N C4AE-6090G, and I used them to replace my C8AE-H heads. If anyone has any info on the performance potential of the heads that would be great. Ive heard stories, just lookin for confirmation on what Ive heard. In one of my parts books it says that the C4's and C8's have the same size ports, but they clearly didnt. I remember the C8's being reffered to as the "Short Port" head, is that correct? Also, what are the potentials for the C8's? Should I find an intake to match the C8's instead of havin one that matches the C4's?

Next, is my C5AE-9425C intake. With a quick sloppy measure, the runners were close to the C4's so I bought it. Is this manifold an ok match? Or, like I asked above, should I just find an intake to match the C8's and swap the top end? Either way, does anyone know a P/N for the manifold that would match C8's?

Im no expert but I have worked on fe,s a little bit. My advice would be get cobra jet heads and a good aluminum intake. Im not sure the part # on the heads but they have dual bolt patterns on the exhaust side. They are also the same as 427 low-riser heads. Hope this helps, Brian.

That's the same casting number on my new heads. They came off a 1964 galaxie 500.
