73 FT 361

Post by supersmitty »

I have a 73 FT 361 engine and I wanted to know if I can use a high performance 390 camshaft in it with 68 galaxy 390 heads and intake?
Thanks

The engines are very different and a lot of things do not interchange. The FT engines are not performance engines they're low compression, low RPM truck engines. Just look for an FE 390 and be done with it.
Side oiler FE, see if you can catch me!!!

Welcome to Fordification BTW ! Like sideoiler said, the FT engines were designed to lug around heavy loads. You will be happy with a 390.
