Exhaust size/replacement
You guys might get tired of me, quick! -
-I need to replace the Y-pipe coming out the manifolds (360 motor-single exhaust) leading to the muffler. I've spent hours trying to just find one at all, but now that I have found one, he said over the phone that it was 2.5". The Cherrybomb I had installed, is a 2". Can anyone tell me what the diameter is supposed to be? It almost seems like (from looking at a diagram) that it might have been 2.5", then ran into an adapter to go from 2.5" to 2.0" before hitting the muffler. I'm trying to avoid ordering the wrong part, should there be multiple sizes. Any help is appreciated, especially suggestions on who to order from. Thanks everyone!

Re: Exhaust size/replacement
The stock exhaust pipe is a 2.5" and the muffler has a 2.5" inlet and a 2" outlet with a 2" tail pipe. If you've replaced the "Y" pipe with the 2.5" then just get a 2.5" muffler and make a tailpipe with exhaust tubing. Cheap, easy and effective.

Perhaps this will help:

The short version is that the factory muffler is a 2.5 inlet and an 2.0 outlet...

Re: Exhaust size/replacement
i guess what i was gettign confused in my thinking. is the drivers side starts out as 2 1/2 and whre it hooks to the passneger side it is 2 1/4 at that point. butthe passenger side is 2 1/2 going back to the muffler. good thing you cdont have a 4wd. the drivers side pipe is only available from park auto parks in south carolina. they have 14 of them in stock. but they havent called me back yet to confirm. 1-800-722-9002

Re: Exhaust size/replacement
No it does not. Drivers side starts and stays at 2 1/4 and hooks to the passenger side which is 2 1/4 and then changed to 2 1/2 at the "Y". I've done this before on 2 trucks.fordman wrote:...the drivers side starts out as 2 1/2 and whre it hooks to the passneger side it is 2 1/4 at that point...
